Michael Jenkins asked:

There are so many diets on the market at the moment that it becomes difficult to know which ones to give a go, which diets are easy to follow and which ones actually work. This article aims to give a basic run down of the types of diets that are available at the moment, and how they work.

Meal Replacement Diets

These diets include the likes of Tony Ferguson Weight Loss Program and Kate Morgan Weight Loss Program. These diets work by having a calorie controlled weight loss drink once of twice a day and then supplemented with a balanced diet. These diets have tended to result in significant weight loss in the short term. The problem with these diets is that it can be difficult to maintain. The drinks also don’t work in well with social habits in terms of eating out. Common side effects of these diets are constipation. These diets can definitely work, however make sure you also keep up with your recommend servings of fruit and vegetables.

Detox Diets

There are many detox diets out there on the market and the most common is the Lemon Detox Diet. These detox diets remove saturated fats from your diet, as well as refined sugars, however there is little evidence to show it actually removes ‘toxins’ from the body. These diets are extremely calorie restricted. For instance the Lemon Detox Diet would involve having 6 drinks a day, and nothing else. Each of these drinks only has 100 calories in them, so anyone who sticks to this will lose a substantial amount of weight. The problems is that the fast weight loss throws the body into starvation mode and the bodies metabolic rate slows down significantly. Once the diet is finished, weight will be put back and fat will replace what was once muscle. Dieters should be very careful before embarking on these diets and do so under doctors supervision.

Fad Diets

There are so many fad diets on the market that it is almost impossible to keep count. The cabbage diet or the grapefruit diet are two of these. Most fad diets can be identified by the promise of fast weight loss. The problem with any fad diet is that fast weight loss is almost never sustainable and will invariably lead to weight gain and the yo-yo weight effects that dieters experience from going on to many diets.

Healthy Balanced Diets

These are not the diets that people get excited about, however they have always had the best long term results. These will diets that include at least 5 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit a day, and a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats. Some good examples of these diets are Australian Lifestyle & Fitness, CSIRO and Low GI Diet. The focus is on moderating calorie intake but still achieving a balanced diet.

Losing weight and slimming your body is one of your main goals for this year. You have promised yourself that you will finally lose your extra pounds off. You want to try some low calorie diet or the newest crash diet in town. Are you ready? Most importantly, would it really help you in your slimming goal and lose your extra weight off?

Let’s start with the 3 day tuna crash diet. Maybe you have heard of the 3 day tuna diet and how it can make you lose 10 pounds to 15 pounds quickly. You can be that desperate to lose your weight off, but before jumping into the 3 day tuna diet, there are some important things you should really know about.

The three day tuna diet is one of today’s favorite crash diets. Many people assume that there is no health risk with short diets just like the 3 day tuna diet. However, low calorie diets usually have adverse effects on your body’s metabolism. By using this kind of diet you may later gain weight, and probably put back more weight than you actually lost.

This is not a healthy diet since it starves your body. You only get about 978 calories per day. Low calorie diets will put you in starvation mode during the first day. You will know it after beginning the three day tuna diet. You will feel sluggish, feel cold no matter how many blankets you have, and even some people dream of food dancing right in front of them when they wake up. These symptoms are indications that your body is in a starvation mode.

The 3 day tuna diet is nearly close to a very low calorie diet or VLCD for short. The three days duration is just an illusion. You will truthfully be on and off this diet for one month.

The three day tuna diet involves eating foods that are not balanced and will not help you lose weight permanently. This diet only allows you some small amounts of fish and chicken, some peanut butter, a few vegetables and an apple for dinner. If you follow all that, then you can get ice cream too, which is not really a healthy diet.

A large portion of the three day tuna diet are made up of refined carbohydrates which have very little nutritional value or none at all. When you eat very low calorie foods that has some bread and sugars in them, then your food cravings are essentially increased because there is more production of insulin when we eat these carbohydrates.

Low calorie diets like the 3 day tuna diet will only give you food cravings. After the three day diet, you are most likely to end up eating unhealthy foods during the rest of the week, since you are free to eat anything you want. Studies made in the 1970s have shown that on average, the 3 day tuna dieter will eventually gain up to eight pounds a few weeks after finishing the diet. The 3 day tuna diet may help you lose some pounds at the start but in the end you will most likely gain back the weight you lost or may gain back even more.

The Cheat Your Way Thin Diet is the brand new fat loss system authored by America’s “anti diet expert” Joel Marion. Joel Marion boasts high success rates with this program and claims that you can literally triple your fat loss results by eating your favourite foods. Surely this is too good to be true? Let’s examine just what the Cheat Your Way Thin Diet is all about.

Who is Joel Marion?

He is a nationally published author and fitness guru, regularly appearing on NBC, ABC and the radio and featuring in magazines such as Men’s Fitness, Clean Eating, MuscleMag International and many others.

How does the Cheat Your Way Thin Diet help you to lose your fat?

Most diets fail for most people because they require you to greatly reduce your calorific intake, even to starve yourself and to deprive yourself of your favourite foods. If you starve yourself, the body simply goes into “starvation mode”-when the body slows down it’s metabolism to be able to survive on fewer calories. For the dieter who cannot see any positive results from his great efforts and is craving his favourite foods, this is all too much and he quits. With the Cheat Your Way Thin diet system there are simple changes in daily menu. These simple changes mean more variety, more options and most especially more results which is a good thing. In addition to this however, strategic “cheat days” are planned for where you are allowed to eat your favourite foods. In this way the body is tricked into thinking it is not on a diet and burns calories more efficiently. Foods that are high in calories have the effect of boosting the metabolism up to 300%. Joel also teaches that exercising around these planned “cheat days” will boost the vocabulary even more.

Is the Cheat Your Way Thin Diet worth the money?

This fat loss system is very affordable. For the reasonable price of $47 you will receive the pre- program and Quick-start checklist, the Game -Changer audio, the No-Fail Strategies Video and success Journal.

Is the Cheat Your Way Thin Diet a scam?

This program is much discussed at the moment and the general consensus seems to be that it is far more effective than regular diets since it “coordinates with the body to take advantage of it’s natural fat burning characteristics and you don’t stave yourself”. It is also considered to be fun since you can eat so many of your favourite foods such as burgers, ice cream, fries and other foods that are normally banned in regular diets.

Cheat Your Way Thin is a scientifically researched system that helps you lose fat faster by boosting the metabolism through “strategic cheat days” and light exercise. The only caveat however must be that indulgence in your favourite foods must be in moderation. The consensus seems to be that if you’re into the venture of losing weight fast, this is a very effective, easy to follow program that will help you to lose weight in no time.
